Hair loss in women

When a lot of hair fall out - it happens to almost every other woman - the alarm rings

The hair belongs to the external features of the woman, it is cared for.

Significant beauty feature

On average, the healthy head loses 50 to 150 hairs a day. All phases of increased hair loss in the spring or in the fall can be normal. It is dramatic, when the hair loss increases strongly. There are various causes: stress, serious infections or diseases can lead to hair loss, also with a three months delay.

Causes

More frequent is so called hormonal hair loss, which is caused by the fact that the hair roots are controlled by hormones. To put it more simply: many female hormones, the oestrogens, make the hair sprout. A decreased hormone production or an increase in male hormones existing in every woman makes hair roots shrivel.

Hormonal hair loss

In the past 20 years, a further form of hair loss has dramatically increased: the hair roots no longer react to the correct hormonal signals of the body. There is a lot of research to find out various causes of this phenomenon. Possible causes may be: too early or too long pill intake, hormone residues in food products and many more reasons.

New form of hair loss

A treatment approach is an additional intake of female hormones, for example, a suitable pill or the change of preparations in medications with another hormonal composition.

Types of treatment Hormones

A further therapy approach is intake of a medication, which contains Minoxidil 2%. It is effective independently from the hormonal influence and is applicable for other forms of hair loss as well.

Active agents

Before the treatment, the dermatologist, the specialist for hair can carry out hair and blood analyses in order to clarify precise reasons for hair loss. Finally, additional measures can be taken, such as intake of certain vitamins and trace elements. It can also be reasonable to use light and laser beams.

Additional measures

A propos: frequent hair washing and dyeing damage hair only in the very rare cases of structural damage of the hair. The hair length does not influence the hair loss, cutting hair short is therefore not reasonable.
